2021 Tata Safari Launched, Priced From Rs. 14.69 Lakhs

Tata Motors has launched the 2021 Safari in India with a starting price tag of Rs. 14.69 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi, introductory), today.

The popular moniker has officially been revived once again and what’s more Tata has also introduced an “Adventure Persona” edition that it had developed unbeknownst to the motoring world.

In all, the 2021 Tata Safari price ranges between Rs. 14.69 lakhs and Rs. 21.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and there are 7 variants equipped with the manual gearbox while 4 come with the automatic transmission.

According to Tata, the 2021 Safari Adventure Persona edition is for customers who like their SUV to look tough and rugged, which is why it comes with certain aestheric differences.

While the 2021 Safari will come with a chrome grille, chrome trim bits throughout and silver-finish alloys, the Adventure edition ditches all of the shiny bits on the outside in favour of black trim and the wheels come in graphite colour too.

Also, the edition comes in a Tropical Mist (blue) colour, while inside, the Adventure Persona edition has earthy brown upholstery while dark chrome and piano black has been used for the interior trim as opposed to beige upholstery in the regular variants.

In terms of the features offered, the base XE variant of the 2021 Safari comes with projector headlamps with dual function DRLs, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, power windows, smart charger (for second and third rows), Boss mode, rear parking sensors, among others.

Top XZ and XZ+ variants get several features, including Xenon HID projector headlights, fog lamps with cornering function, premium leather interior upholstery, Terrain Response modes, 8.8-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 6-airbags, powered driver seat, 18-inch alloys and more.

A 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel producing 170 PS max power and 350 Nm peak torque powers the car and it can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Weighing in at 1825 kgs, the Safari has a 50-litre fuel tank, and 447-litres of cargo space with the third row folded down.
