Skoda has revealed the 2021 Octavia Pro, a stretched model tailored to suit the Chinese market’s specific need – abundant rear legroom.
This long wheelbase Octavia looks similar to the one on sale in Europe. But, it has Octavia RS-esque front and rear bumpers, black ORVM caps, longer rear doors, and 18-inch wheels. It does sport the European model’s lighting units though.
Inside, the car has a 12-inch touchscreen, while a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge and head-up display are optional extras. The dashboard looks the same as the current-generation model on sale overseas.
It also has features such as heated and ventilated electric front seats and electric tailgate. Also, due to the use of shift-by-wire tech, the gear selector has transformed into a small knob.
Of course, what the 2021 Skoda Octavia Pro is all about is rear seat space. Having increased the car’s length by 64 mm (4753 mm overall), the Czech firm transferred 44 mm of it between the wheels (2730 mm wheelbase).
Customers would have little to complain about when it comes to the rear seat space, given the class in which the premium sedan competes in.
Powering the 2021 Skoda Octavia Pro in China would be a 1.4-litre petrol engine good for 150 HP and 250 Nm. It will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic that sends the motor’s power to the front wheels.
The car has multi-link suspension, will come equipped with driver assistance features, and will be sold alongside the third-generation model in the world’s most populous nation.
