Rolls-Royce Motor Cars India has announced the price of 2021 Ghost and the luxury sedan costs from, wait for it, Rs. 6.9 crores (ex-showroom, India). Deliveries to commence from early-2021.
In its second generation, the Ghost is one of the advanced cars to come from Rolls-Royce, ever. Although the most important bits in a car are ones we do not necessarily see, this car is all about what the eye sees.
For example, the radiator grille is illuminated, but the back part of it has been brushed so as to be non-reflective, while the Spirit of Ecstasy is mounted on the bonnet.
Inside the longer and wider (than the car before, obviously) Ghost II gets 100 kg of sound-proofing materials, double-skinned bulkhead, double glazed windows, panel dampening, among other things, to keep the cabin as quiet as it possibly could get.
You get a sense that the boffins at Rolls-Royce prostrated themselves with utmost care for the final product that mere words cannot do justice to how it would feel in real.
I did mention that the 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost India price begins from Rs. 6.9 crores (ex-showroom), because no two cars made by the brand are the same. There are so many number of ways one can customise the car and only the sky, and possibly the wallet of the buyer, is the limit.
Although the car is all about luxury, Rolls-Royce did give it trick air suspension called “Planar Suspension System” that adjusts according to the road surface, all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering and a massive V12 to push the near 2.5 tonne car to a top speed of 250 km/hr.
Oh, before we end, remember that the old Ghost had rear doors that could close with the touch of a button? Well, in the 2021 Ghost, they can open by themselves too. Clearly, why would you try to do such a laborious job if you’ve got Rs. 7 crores to burn on your luxury toy?
