The 2021 Range Rover has been revealed with new straight-six diesel engine as part of Land Rover celebrating 50 years of Range Rover this year.
Land Rover says the latest Ingenium diesel engine is made using modular aluminium engine architecture to be smooth and refined than the outgoing V6 diesels.
The new 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine features 48V Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) tech. The engine is available in three states of tune – 249 PS, 300 PS and 350 PS. It replaces the old V6 and V8 diesels.
Range Rover has also released special-edition models such as the Range Rover Fifty Edition, Westminster Editions and SV Autobiography Dynamic Black.
The Range Rover Fifty will be limited to 1970 units globally to mark the birth year of the iconic model. It is based on the Autobiography model.
The Range Rover Fifty will be available in standard and long wheelbase (LWB) variants with four exterior colours and 22-inch wheels.
The new Westminster Edition is based on the LWB Vogue model and gets features such as privacy glass, 21-inch diamond turned alloy wheels, while inside it gets Grand Black veneer, a suedecloth headlining, panoramic roof, soft close doors and 19-speaker Meridian Surround sound system.
The SV Autobiography Dynamic Black edition (also LWB) combines Santorini black metallic paintwork with Narvik black gloss exterior accents, 22-inch gloss black wheels and branded treadplates.
Other distinguishing exterior features include black brake calipers while the interior is completed in Ebony seats with Pimento stitching.
All the above models of the Range Rover come with the SUV’s Terrain Response 2 system that ensures its all-terrain capabilities and provides up to seven driving modes.
The car gets Touch Pro Duo twin-touchscreen tech while the infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, with up to eight 4G Wi-Fi connections and embedded Spotify app.
Also, the car gets advanced driver assistance systems including lane departure warning, emergency braking and cruise control with speed limiter as standard
Finally, there is an Ultra-WideBand (UWB) key that prevents keyless thefts and a secure app that helps customers track their vehicle.
The new model is India bound. Land Rover will be offering P400 MHEV 3.0-litre petrol engine and the new D300 MHEV 3.0-litre diesel engine in our country. It will be available in both Short Wheelbase and Long Wheelbase variants along with the LWB based special editions.
