The 2021 MG G10 MPV has been launched in China as the Maxus G10. This is the updated version of the G10 that was already on sale. The vehicle now complies with the new 6b emission norms in China with its new engines.
The Maxus G10 is now offered with 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a reworked version of the older 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit while the 2.0-litre diesel engine replaces the older 1.9-litre unit. The petrol engine produces 224 HP and 350 Nm and it is available with either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. Meanwhile, the 2.0 diesel engine delivers 163 PS and 375 Nm and it is available with a 6-speed MT or an 8-speed AT.
Apart from these mechanical changes, the Maxus G10 also gets new seat fabric. Earlier it was available in 7-seater and 9-seater configurations but now the vehicle is offered in an 8-seater variant too. The G10 has a starting price of CNY 1,39,800 which translates to Rs. 14.96 lakhs. MG had showcased the G10 at the 2020 Auto Expo and this MPV is set to be launched in India in 2021 to rival the Kia Carnival.
