“Best car in the world” as they claim about the S-Class is getting a new generation soon. W223 model spotted completely undisguised revealing all the details of the luxury flagship.
The front profile is now sharper thanks to the sleeker headlamps. The grille has grown larger integrating all the radars for autonomous driving tech. The rear is very similar to the CLS but the S-Class looks huge in size.
The interior has completely changed, there is no resemblance to the predecessor. The 2021 Mercedes S-Class looks futuristic on the inside. Very minimal use of buttons on the dashboard looks clutter free.
We’ve seen the new steering wheel design in the E-Class facelift. There is a wide all-digital instrument cluster behind the steering and a panel for heads-up display.
Let’s address the elephant in the room, the giant touchscreen in the centre console. It seems not less than 16-inches in size. It will be offered with the latest MBUX infotainment system.
There centre of the dashboard is a wide plane high-gloss panel. The top of the dash gets 4 horizontally stacked AC vents while there are 2 vertically stacked vents on either sides.
Now the most important part of the S-Class is the rear seat. The spy pictures reveal twin rear entertainment package screens. The centre arm rest integrates the controls for the infotainment.
More details will be revealed closer to the global debut of the car. Mercedes will offer a range of petrol and diesel engines along with plug-in hybrid powertrains with the new S.
We can expect India launch by early 2021 as Mercedes won’t delay the flagship for our market. The sleepless nights for its rivals Audi A8 and BMW 7-Series have begun.
