Maserati has revealed the Levante Hybrid, its first electrified SUV, that follows in the footsteps of the Ghibli Hybrid.
The Maserati Levante Hybrid makes use of a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that works with a 48 V hybrid system to recover energy during deceleration and braking.
It makes a maximum of 330 HP and 450 Nm of peak torque (delivered from 2250 RPM). The SUV, available only with all-wheel drive, can do the 0-100 km/hr run in 6 seconds flat and top out at 240 km/hr.
What’s more, the Maserati Levante Hybrid weighs less than its 6-cylinder equivalent and is claimed to have better weight distribution thanks to the placement of its battery at the rear.
In terms of appearance, the Levante Hybrid launch version comes in a new metallic tri-coat colour called Azzurro Astro. This shade is available as part of the brand’s customisation programme, Maserati Fuoriserie.
To mark it out as a hybrid car, the Italian firm has used distinctive elements throughout. On the outside, the trio of side air ducts, logo on the C-pillar and brake calipers come in blue. Inside, the embroidered seams of the seats are blue as well.
In addition, the Levante Hybrid comes with features such as Maserati Connect which will alert the owner when a service is due (among other things), while using the Maserati Connect App, Amazon Alexa or Google Assist, owners can stay in contact with their car at all times.
The carmaker is expected to soon launch the model in India and expand its lineup which includes the Ghibli and Quattroporte. Also, Maserati has begun accepting bookings for the MC20 supercar in India.
