The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift has been spotted for the first time on Indian roads and it looks identical to the facelifted model revealed for overseas markets in 2020.
Sporting the Solid Fire Red colour option and a black contrast roof, the model was spied by MotorBeamer Shivam Thacker in Gujarat.
Like the international version, the Indian-spec 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is also set to come with a different grille in comparison to the model on sale at present.
Thus, a strip of chrome which splits the radiator grille in half will be present, while there will also be a restyled front bumper. There are no other changes on the outside of the car.
However, when it gets launched, expect the popular hatchback to sport new alloy wheels, while inside, we expect the 2021 Swift facelift come with an updated infotainment system and mild tweaks here and there.
In terms of powertrain, Maruti will plonk in the 1.2-litre K12C petrol motor making 90 PS and 113 Nm of torque under the bonnet of the car. The engine will likely not feature mild-hybrid assistance, but should offer more fuel economy.
Gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT – already offered with the car are expected to be retained as is.
Expected to be launched by March this year, the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will likely result in an increase in the car’s asking price.
At present the Swift cost between Rs. 5.19 lakhs and Rs. 8.02 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), But, it is likely that an increase in cost would probably not leave even a scratch in its sales.
