The next generation Maruti Suzuki Alto has been spied testing on our roads and spy shots have given us a few important details about the upcoming entry-level hatchback.
Evident is the fact that the car is a tad longer than the current generation model, which might translate into additional interior space. Wrapped in black, the development mule hides details very well, but the styling seems to be an evolution of the current gen car.
Silhouette of the car is rather familiar and we can see that it having regular door handles, outside rear-view mirrors and orange side blinkers. The headlights have been updated as well.
At the back, we can see that there are new taillights, the bumper has been tweaked a bit, apart from there being reflectors and finally, a roof-mounted spoiler.
Riding on steel wheels, the test mule does not give away much more information. However, we can expect to see far more 2021 Maruti Alto spied images in the future and they will reveal even more details.
For the next generation Alto, Maruti Suzuki is expected to completely revamp the interior and provide the car with more equipment than ever, so as to keep it relevant in the more and more tech-driven world.
Also, changes might be made to the 0.8-litre engine to make it more fuel efficient, to the chassis, to make it structurally safer and to enable it to handle better and to the suspension to make the hatch stay planted than it could before.
Transmission option is expected to stay the same with the next generation Alto, while it is not known if Maruti will bring back the K10 version or not.
Presently, the Alto is priced between Rs. 2.95 lakhs and Rs. 4.36 lakhs (prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2021 model is likely to stay affordable, but may cost more than its predecessor and is expected to get a CNG option as well.
