The interior of the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 has been spotted undisguised and the image has surfaced online. Spotted at Hubballi in Karnataka, the test mule looks to be the fully-loaded version sporting an automatic gearbox.
The main attraction inside the car is the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen setup that sit in the same housing. Mahindra has even given the screens a separate top panel to keep sunlight at bay.
All of the air vents on the dual tone dashboard have a metal-finish bezel, so do the buttons on the steering wheel, and even the door releases have metal-finish effect, while a silver-coloured trim present on the lower portion of the dash runs into the door cards.
Featuring a regular IRVM, the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 interior spotted without camouflage also shows us the entire switchgear present in the car, including the electronic parking brake and the rotary controller that sits next to cup holders.
Looks like the SUV will feel airy inside, for the theme is light-coloured, including the upholstery, and also because Mahindra will offer a sunroof with it.
On the outside, despite Mahindra’s best attempts to cover it up, the new headlight’s shape can be clearly seen, along with the new radiator grille and bumper.
The carmaker has made it a point to camouflage a small portion at the centre of the air dam, which we think might be the system for the advanced driver assistance tech.
Given the chrome window garnish, it is evident that the carmaker will use loads of chrome on the new XUV500, which has a stylish rear section with loads of creases on the large tailgate.
Expected to go on sale soon, the SUV will come in 6- and 7-seat versions, be offered with petrol and diesel engine options and rival the 2021 Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the soon-to-be-launched Hyundai Alcazar.
