The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 has been spied many a time and now its interior has also been captured on video with minimal camouflage.
What captures our attention first is the presence of connected screens like we have seen on latest Mercedes-Benz models.
There will be two digital displays under one unit, one for the driver and the other a touchscreen for the infotainment system.
Sitting just below the infotainment screen are the central air vents with chrome surrounds (all air vents have them) and then come the buttons for the climate control, hazard lights, among others.
Just ahead of the 6-speed manual gear lever is a storage space and Mahindra might offer wireless charging feature (at least in the top trim) to make best use of that spot.
Sitting next to the stick shift in the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 interior are buttons for electronic parking brake, auto hold and there is also a rotary knob surrounded by media controls, while there are two cupholders next to it.
Also, there is a flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel and overall, the dashboard design along with the dual tone theme looks premium indeed.
Coming to the seats, as seen in the video, the link to which is below, they look to be made to keep passengers in comfort even over long distances.
It is also reported that the 2021 XUV500 will come with Level 1 autonomous driver assistance tech such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Safe Distance Alert, Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, among others.
Driver aids like high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert, and a whole host of other safety features like multiple air bags, ABS, EBD, TC, will also be present on the SUV.
Engine-wise, there will be two mStallion turbo petrol engines – a 1.5-litre (163 PS and 280 Nm) and 2.0-litre (190 PS and 380 Nm) unit powering the car and there will be a 2.2-litre diesel option as well.
Two gearbox options will be offered – a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox and it is likely that the larger engines might come only with the auto gearbox. The SUV is expected to get launched by April next year.
