The digital instrument cluster of the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 and the infotainment screen, have been spotted in a development mule once again.
Spotted at Solang Valley in Himachal Pradesh (the driver was not too happy that the car was being filmed, so he pressed the trumpet horn), the much-awaited SUV seems to be production-ready.
Inside, the digital instrument cluster of the car has the speedometer on the left-hand side, while the gear indicator is right in the middle of the right-hand portion of the cluster.
Also, the touchscreen system that sits on the same plane as the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 digital instrument cluster can be seen along with the new steering wheel, while the dash is dual-tone and there is beige interior upholstery as well.
On the outside, the development mule’s flush-fitting door handles can be seen as clear as day and it is a system similar-looking to the one on the Lexus LC 500 grand tourer.
Looks like the driver of the mule kept it unlocked, for the door handle had popped out when the car was stationary. It should automatically close when the car reaches a certain speed (say 10 km/hr) or will stay shut if the car is locked.
Other details that can be seen include the new headlights, radiator grille with 6 vertical slats, fog lights, and the small air dam and front splitter.
Along the sides of the car the ORVMs have indicators integrated in them, there is chrome window garnish, roof rails, a shark fin antenna and the test mule runs on alloy wheels.
At the back, there is a spoiler, rear windscreen wiper, a heavily creased tail gate, tail lights that look to be split, and a new bumper with a skid plate.
Mahindra is expected to soon launch the SUV that will compete against the Tata Harrier, MG Hector Plus, and the like.
