Here’s How 2021 Mahindra Scorpio S3+ Looks In The Flesh

This is the most affordable variant of the Scorpio

Mahindra launched the new S3+ variant of the 2021 Scorpio earlier this month with a price tag of Rs. 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

While the introduction of this new base variant of the Scorpio made the SUV more affordable, it was rather hard to spot one, until now that is.

Let us start with how the SUV looks on the outside. In a bid to save some money, Mahindra decided not to paint the bumpers and the side cladding of the Scorpio S3+.

The same treatment has been given to the door handles and ORVMs (to be fair, the S5 variant also gets these two bits), while the foot step has been omitted.

However, the car does come with a bonnet scoop, follow-me-home headlights and LED tail lamps and rides on silver-coloured steel rims.

Open the door, step inside and here the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio S3+ can be seen without bottle or cup holders or even auto door lock feature. Also, the seats are wrapped in vinyl.

But, the steering has tilt adjustment and the variant, which can be had in 7- and 9-seat versions, does come with power windows and a dual tone dashboard.

Power comes from a 2.2-litre mHawk 4-cylinder diesel engine that has been detuned to produce 120 BHP and 280 Nm of torque. It has the micro hybrid tech and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Safety equipment offered with the 2021 Scorpio S3+ include dual front airbags, ABS, panic brake indication, seat belt reminder and speed alert.
