2021 KTM RC 200 Spied On Test

The riding position seems to be a bit more relaxed than before

The upcoming 2021 KTM RC 200 has been spotted testing in India sporting the Austrian brand’s new design language for the supersports motorcycle range.

Having been spotted on test already in September last year, the motorcycle entered production 3 months ago in India.

This recently spotted fully camouflaged pre-production motorcycle provides us a clear picture as to how the final article will indeed look like.

As can be seen from the images of the 2021 KTM RC 200 spotted on test, the windscreen is fairly large and takes its place above the headlamp unit of the current Duke 200.

Sporting alloys that have rather thin spokes, the motorcycle will get a stubby front mudguard and a revised fairing that has multiple cuts and creases and also exposes the engine casing.

The fuel tank looks big bulbous and should provide the rider with enough support. Also the bike has split seats, that seem to be thinly padded, on the revised subframe.

Featuring a new front disc brake, USD forks upfront and a rear monoshock, the 2021 KTM RC 200 spotted on test sports a tail section very similar to the current-generation RC models.

But, there are good things to note too. For example, KTM will setup the bike to offer a more relaxed riding position even for riders who are not challenged height-wise. Also, the small RC is likely to get the Duke 390’s TFT digital cluster.

There is a possibility that the development mule spotted on test has a 125cc heart. But, we cannot be sure at the moment. However, what we can definitively state is that an ugly-looking saree guard has no place on a supersports machine.

If this is the new RC 200, then it will be powered by a 199.5cc motor that puts out a maximum of 25 HP and 19.2 Nm of torque which will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

When it gets launched sometime this year, the motorcycle will cost around Rs. 2 lakhs (ex-showroom).
