KTM is gearing up to launch its 2021 Duke 125 by the fag end of this month with updated styling that brings it in-line with other Duke models. Bookings have commenced at authorised KTM dealerships already.
The leaked image shows us that the motorcycle will look similar to its bigger sibling, the Duke 200, borrowing a majority of its parts like the headlight, fuel tank, body panels, LCD screen and even the frame.
Due to adopting the Duke 200 hardware, the motorcycle will also get the larger 13.4-litre fuel tank. But, expect the Duke 125 to carry forward its suspension, braking hardware and wheels.
However, the colour schemes will be different and model-specific stickers will also be in place. The model in the image sports a white fuel tank with orange panels, orange trellis frame and black wheels.
It is only natural that KTM would update the styling of the Duke 125, for it was the only model in the Duke naked motorcycle range sporting the Austrian brand’s old design language.
No changes are expected to be made to the engine, which is a BS6-compliant 124.71cc liquid-cooled single cylinder unit that makes 15 HP and 12 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed transmission.
It is likely that KTM Duke 125 launch will see the model’s price go up. More details on the matter are expected to be revealed officially by KTM pretty soon. So, watch this space.
