Kia India will discontinue select variants of the 2021 Seltos and Sonet compact SUVs based on customer feedback and booking trend.
In a circular sent to its dealer partners, Kia India states that the Sonet’s HTK+ 1.0-litre turbo petrol DCT and HTK+ 1.5-litre diesel AT trims and the Seltos’ HTX+ 1.5-litre diesel AT variant will be discontinued from the middle of April.
The new trim range for both cars will be put in place from 1st May 2021, says Kia and the brand has asked its dealers not to take bookings for the discontinued trims from 1st April.
With the deletion of the 1.0-litre turbo petrol DCT and 1.5-litre diesel AT, the Sonet HTK+ trim now comes only with manual gearboxes for all of its engines which include the 1.2-litre petrol (5MT), 1.0-litre turbo petrol (6iMT) and 1.5-litre diesel (6MT).
On the other hand, the Seltos HTX+ was offered only with a 1.5-litre diesel engine which could be paired either with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. It too has become a manual-only trim with the latest revision that has been rolled out. Soon, the Seltos will get a new range-topping Gravity variant with cosmetic differences.
According to the carmaker, this trim revision is in-line with market feedback and booking trend. The firm also notes that it has, in the past, introduced or deleted trims, colours and enhanced features in its cars based on the same.
Details about the revised 2021 Kia Seltos variants will be announced soon and the same will go for the 2021 Sonet sub-4 metre SUV as well.
