Jaguar has revealed the 2021 F-Pace SVR with visual changes, enhanced performance and a higher top speed.
According to the carmaker, the updates are delivered by a combination of new hardware and the move to the advanced Electronic Vehicle Architecture (EVA 2.0).
Since it is a performance car, let us begin at the business end. The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol motor continues to make 550 PS, but torque is up by 20 Nm to 700 Nm now.
With such colossal firepower, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 4 seconds flat and go on to top out at 286 km/hr (5 km/hr more). Jaguar also says the car is kinder to polar bears and has better fuel efficiency now.
Further, the transmission fitted to the car is the same uprated 8-speed torque converter automatic used in the XE Project 8 to withstand further loading.
Similarly, the dynamics systems have also been tweaked, with the SUV now featuring an uprated Dynamic mode, a new Dynamic Launch feature, revised chassis bushes and differently tuned adaptive damping.
WIth more speed comes more responsibility, which is why Jaguar has also uprated the brakes and fitted the all-wheel-drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics as standard, while Configurable Dynamics lets the driver setup the vehicle to suit his or her personal preferences.
Design of the car has changed a bit (for performance purposes, of course), with the front bodywork now reducing lift by 35 percent and lowering drag. The car’s body has new apertures and vents for improved powertrain and brake cooling that in turn also make the car look more sportier.
Inside, things are luxurious as ever with seat and door inserts finished in Alcantara, central cubby wrapped in Windsor leather, while aluminium patterned finishers are standard, which can be swapped to open-pore carbon fibre which is an option.
There is a new 11.4-inch curved touchscreen for the Pivi Pro infotainment, a 12.3 inch driver’s display, a new leather-wrapped drive selector and a new split-rim steering wheel with zinc-alloy shift paddles.
As an option, customers can also get semi-aniline leather sports seats with heritage logo-inspired diamond embroidery and SVR logo on the headrests.
The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR also gets the latest set of technologies such as Software-Over-Air updates, Active Road Noise Cancellation and the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, while wireless device charging is an option.
The F-Pace SVR is the highest-selling Jaguar SV product and this update is likely to keep sales going as strong as earlier.
