The 2021 Hyundai i20 has been spotted at a dealership ahead of its November launch.
While it was expected to be launched by mid-2020, the continued spread of COVID-19 put a dampener on proceedings.
Spotted in a shade of white, both the front and rear portion of the car have been covered. However, other production-spec details are clear for us too.
For example, the car will get LED blinkers on ORVMs, 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome window line garnish, shark fin antenna, and a rear wiper.
However, we do know that the 2021 Hyundai i20 will come with LED tail lights and overall, the car will look much sharper with a different front and rear bumper design as well.
Interior of the car has also been captured clearly this time around. Like in the overseas models, the dash is dominated by two screens for the driver’s cluster and infotainment system and both measure 10.25 inches.
Horizontal detailing on the dash that align with the air vents are a unique touch. While there are but a few buttons on the dash, we can spot a few destined for start/stop and AC controls. The steering wheel too gets a few buttons.
However, the colour theme inside is a bit sombre. Although the sunroof (it gets one) will liven things up a bit, beige upholstery would further help matters. Also, the space at the back seams reasonable enough and there is an AC vent for rear passengers too.
Equipped with a manual gearbox, the 2021 Hyundai i20 spotted car might be powered by any of the three engines – 1.0 T-GDi petrol, 1.2-litre MPi petrol and 1.5-litre diesel – that the carmaker is expected to equip it with.
When it gets launched in November, the new i20 will compete against the Tata Altroz and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the premium hatchback segment.
