Honda has filed a patent for the 2021 MSX125 Grom in India indicating that it might launch the pocket-sized motorcycle in the market in the future.
Unveiled only recently overseas, the 2021 Honda MSX125 Grom received fresh styling which is minimalistic at best and the bodywork can be removed with ease, claims Honda.
It does come with a good amount of kit too like LED headlight, LCD digital cluster, 31 mm USD front forks and a Euro 5-spec 125cc air-cooled engine that puts out 9.7 HP at 7250 RPM and 10.5 Nm at 5500 RPM which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
For such a small bike, even such muted power figures are enough to take it to a top speed of 94 km/hr, while it does come with dual disc brakes and ABS that operates through an IMU.
Smaller riders will particularly like the Grom’s 761 mm seat height, while the 12-inch alloys are wrapped in 120-section tyres upfront and 130-section rubber at the rear.
Colour options available on the 2021 Honda MSX125 Grom overseas are Force Silver Metallic, Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic and Gayety Red.
However, the 2021 Honda Grom patent might not lead to anything and Honda might not consider bringing the bike here, for its last small 2-wheeler, the Navi, did not do well.
It must also be noted that back in 2017, Honda tested the previous-generation Grom in India (click here to read article), but nothing came of it.
