Nothing escapes prying eyes these days and the Chinese 2021 Ford Edge interior is no exception either.
Thanks to snoopy persons we can see that the revised Ford Edge dashboard looks much similar to the one spotted in the upcoming XUV500.
It gets the same ‘dual-screen in a single housing’ layout, the inspiration for which was taken from latest Mercedes cars, like the Mahindra SUV that is set to be launched in India next year.
While the touchscreen in the centre looks quite big, we can see that the actual driver’s digital display is quite small. The size of the screens is not known at present.
Also, even the central air con vents look similar to the ones seen on the 2021 XUV500 and it is good to see that Ford has not given into the trend of offering touch-sensitive buttons which are fiddly.
However, the centre console is different on the latest Chinese Ford Edge. There is a storage space beneath the climate control buttons, while a rotary knob (to select drive, neutral, park and reverse) along with an electronic handbrake.
There is ambient lighting in the car with a light strip running along the sides of the centre console and all the switches are backlit, which will help liven up the interior.
Also, there is a multi-function steering wheel, wood-like trim on the dash, contrast stitching on the centre console and the dash and the car is said to come with a new sound system as well.
Like the 2021 Ford Edge interior, the exterior has also changed. There is a redesigned front grille to bring it in-line with Ford’s current design language.
The 2021 Ford Edge will be officially unveiled in China this month and will be equipped with Level 2 driver assistance systems and will come powered by two turbocharged petrol engines.
