Ducati has revealed the 2021 XDiavel with Euro 5 emissions compliance and the range has now gained new Dark and Black Star variants.
As the name suggests, both are stealthy looking versions, although the Black Star has grey colour on the fuel tank along with a horizontal red stripe.
Following a long line of ‘Dark’ models, beginning with the Monster 600 Dark way back in 1998, the 2021 Ducati XDiavel Dark has almost all its surface finished in Matt Black.
This treatment, Ducati says, enhances the ‘Reduce to the Max’ design principle, but to our eyes, it just makes the bike much more meaner, which is no bad thing.
On the other hand, the Black Star variant is a new concept that looks similar to the Dark variant, save for a few places which are painted in a shade of grey and some red flashes.
Further, for the 2021 update Ducati has given the XDiavel range a full LED lighting system with DRL (on the S and Black Star), DLC coated fork stanchions, newly upholstered seat, Bluetooth connectivity, lightweight forged wheels and M50 Brembo calipers.
Coming to the engine, the bike is powered by a Testastretta DVT 1262cc twin-cylinder that puts out 160 HP at 9500 RPM and 127 Nm at 5000 RPM.
Yep, both figures are better than the Euro 4 version thanks to new engine calibration and an updated silencer layout. Ducati also claims that the bike has a smoother delivery curve.
In terms of standard equipment, the 2021 XDiavel gets riding modes, Bosch inertial platform (IMU), cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Power Launch, among others.
