BMW Motorrad has unveiled the Euro 5-compliant 2021 G 310 GS overseas. Coming in four years after its debut, BMW says the updated entry-level adventure bike is versatile, safer and more dynamic than before.
Design of the bike has not changed by much and it still sports the same windscreen, high front fender, striking flyline and the high rear end. However, there are new features on the bike now and that includes the LED headlight and indicators.
There are two new style variants available with the motorcycle this time around for the European market. The first of them is the Rallye style for which the bike comes in Kyanit Blue Metallic with a red-coloured frame.
Another option is the “40 Years GS” edition, based on the age-old R 100 GS, that comes in Cosmic Black with yellow graphics. Now, the covers of alternator, clutch and water pump come painted in Titanium Grey Metallic.
The heart of the 2021 BMW G 310 GS is the Euro 5 (consequently BS6) 313cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that puts out 34 HP and 28 Nm. Now, the engine has been equipped with a “electronic throttle grip” (electromotive throttle controller) for a better throttle response and it features automatic idle speed increase to prevent stalling.
Also new on the bike is the self-boosting anti-hopping clutch, while both the clutch lever and the handbrake lever are now adjustable in four stages so as to provide ergonomic benefits for all types of riders.
India launch of the BMW G 310 GS and its roadster brother the G 310 R will take place on 8th October, but it is to be seen if the colour schemes are carried over to our country as well.
