BMW has revealed the 2021 5-Series LWB (Long Wheelbase) and the luxury sedan, designed for the Chinese market, will be premiered at the Auto China 2020.
The German carmaker says that the business sedan is the most successful of its kind in China, with around 1.74 lakh units of it having gotten sold in 2019 alone.
For the 2021 model year, BMW has given the 5-Series LWB a more distinctive kidney grille, new headlights and tail lamps and an overall sharper look.
Inside, the first thing that is evident is the increased space for the rear passengers, as 2021 BMW 5-Series LWB features a wheelbase that has been extended by 130 mm to sit at 3105 mm.
Features offered on the car, in addition to the BMW Operating System 7 and several connectivity options, include BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof, rear-seat Fond-Entertainment Professional with two tilt-adjustable touchscreens, ambient lighting, among others.
Exclusively for the Chinese market, a comfort rear seat, with ergonomic upholstery and comfortable headrests is available states BMW, adding that there are diverse possibilities for individualisation.
List of exclusive features also extend to what powers the car, as BMW will sell the business sedan with a 292 BHP plug-in-hybrid system in 535Le form in the Chinese market alone, and the model will be available, inter alia, with the M Sport package.
Also, BMW says, the 5-Series LWB will come with numerous innovations in the areas of driver assist systems, operation and networking.
