BMW pulls the wraps off the new 4-Series Coupe.
Initially with all the speculations and leaks, we couldn’t believe our eyes that the production version will actually turn out to be this close to the concept. Yes, the 2021 BMW 4-Series coupe actually has a massive kidney grille.
There’s no bumper in the middle section. It’s only the grille from top to bottom. Well, it might grow on some with time but at a first glance it looks quite weird.
The new generation BMW 4-Series shares its underpinnings with the 3-Series. It has a sharp and sleek design language. The side profile resembles the new 8-Series coupe a lot. The rear looks sporty as well with the sleek tail lights.
The interior is very similar to the 3-Series, you won’t be able to find any difference. It has got the same features, the all-digital instrument cluster with new 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
There are multiple petrol and diesel engines on offer. Different markets will get different engine options. Available in 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and diesel along with bigger 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
The 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbo petrol comes with 48V mild-hybrid tech. The engine produces 382 BHP and 500 Nm torque while the extra 11 BHP comes from the 48V starter generator. 0-100 km/hr comes up in 4.3 seconds.
The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine churns out 255 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0-100 km/hr in 5.3 seconds. All engines come with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr.
All engines are paired with 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels. The xDrive variants come with all-wheel drive layout.
BMW 4-Series convertible to reveal later this year. We can expect BMW to introduce the new 4-Series in India by 2021.
