2021 Audi Q2 Facelift Unveiled, Gets New Tech With Styling Update
There are several packages offered with the car for the interior and safety-wise with the update.
Audi has unveiled the 2021 Q2 facelift, as four years on since its launch, the luxury compact SUV needed a styling refresh.
However, the design has not changed much, with the biggest difference being the new LED headlights that are now in tune with latest Audi models. Other changes include a tweaked front bumper, revised air intakes and the grille being positioned lower.
Similarly, the changes are subtle at the rear, with new tail lamp signature and diffuser insert and customers can choose if they want dynamic turn signals or not. There are five new paint shades and depending on the trim level, the blades on the C-pillar will be in body colour or black.
Inside, the air vents have been redesigned, so is the gear selector, while dinamica microfibre replaces Alcantara trim. There are eight packages – four for basic and four for S line interior, with optional items thrown in them as well.
The 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit and 8.3-inch MMI navigation plus are among the optional items, as is the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System. Audi connect services is also offered for those who pick the top infotainment system.
Five engines – three TFSI and two TDI units – are expected to power the car. However, Audi has only revealed about one engine – a 1.5-litre TFSI unit that makes 148 HP, 250 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual or the optional 7-speed S tronic.
Expect Quattro all-wheel drive to be provided on top models which would go well with the standard progressive steering. Also, safety is well catered to with three optional safety packages also available.
Optional extras offered on the 2021 Audi Q2 facelift include sports seats, height-adjustable front passenger seat, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, auxiliary heating, powered tailgate, trailer hitch, Matrix LED headlights, ambient interior lighting, sports suspension, among several others.
Pre-sales of the Q2 will begin in Europe this month September and prices are expected to start at around €25,000 (Rs. 21.84 lakhs) in Germany. Audi is expected to introduce the Q2 in India this year.
