Lorenzo Salvadori, has been spied riding what could be the 2021 Aprilia Tuono 1100, around the furiously fast Imola cicuit in Italy.
The Aprilia development rider was testing a prototype that had MotoGP-style aero winglets.
What was impressive is that the rider came up with a laptime of 1 minute and 50 seconds, less than four seconds off the pace of superbike race machines of only three years ago.
It looks like the next Tuono from Noale might be even more of a step-up than the current bike, which is already comically fast, to say the least about its capabilities.
A lot of carbon can be seen on the bike and chassis parts too seem to be top spec, likely to keep the weight to a minimum, because weight is an important factor that manufacturers keep trying to bring down in bikes of this class.
But our eyes keep going to the new winglets that look inspired from the RS-GP 20, yeah Aprilia’s MotoGP machine, that might end up giving the Tuono 1100 a good advantage over its competitors.
Yes, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 also has winglets, but not of this sort and with the 2021 Aprilia Tuono spied bike likely having a power figure of at least 215 HP, the segment is only going to get hotter, especially since Kawasaki and MV Agusta are also joining the supernaked bandwagon with their latest machines.
