Yamaha is all set to introduce the new R3 on 19th December, bookings open at some dealerships.
Launched in August 2015 for the first time in India, the Yamaha R3 has had a bumpy ride in the Indian market. The bike was recalled multiple times, it had meagre sales in the country, it also got discontinued in between and then relaunched in 2018.
After the international market has got the facelifted R3, itβs time for us to get one now. Yamaha will introduce the updated R3 on 19th December in India. Some dealers have started accepting bookings too for the same.
The updated Yamaha R3 gets substantial cosmetic changes and new features on offer. The R1 inspired front profile looks sharper than the outgoing model. It gets LED headlamp with faux air intake in the centre, large windshield, muscular fuel tank, etc. The rear profile also gets sharper.
The new Yamaha R3 also gets a digital instrument cluster with backlit TFT display which shows information like gear indicator, engine heat level and a digital clock.
The engine of the new R3 remains unchanged but we can expect slight changes in the output with the BS6 version that will be introduced in India. It comes with a 321cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that produces 41 BHP and 29.6 Nm paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Yamaha R3 facelift comes with 37 mm KYB USD forks and new clip-on handlebars for improved handling. The bike will get single disc at the front and rear with dual-channel ABS.
