The upcoming 2020 Apache RTR 200 4V will feature a 3-axis Inertial Measurement Unit.
The 2020 Apache RTR 200 4V is considered to be TVS’s strong suit in terms of performance, quality levels and reliability. As we already know, the new Apache RTR 200 4V is going to get a full digital information panel. Apart from turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call notifications, last parked location etc, it’ll get a lap timer, a 0-60 km/hr timer and a top speed indicator as well. It is to be noted that the information panel will be a little different than what we see on the Jupiter Grande and the NTorq 125.
However, the spotlight lies on the introduction of a 3-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). It is going to provide the rider with statistics like lean angles and G-forces. Additionally, it might come with what we know as a ‘tour mode’ option in the panel, which may provide information about statistics like average speed, time, fuel consumption etc. That is not all as it could get a ‘Gear Distribution’ option which might show about the rider’s usage of the cogs every day.
The new Apache RTR 200 4V will get an LED headlamp and a BS6-compliant version of the 197.75cc single-cylinder which currently produces 20.5 PS and 18.1 Nm. We expect a revision of the gearbox and an additional cog for better highway capabilities.
It is quite obvious that there will be a bump-up in the price. It may go up by at least Rs. 12,000/-. Much of this hike is due to the implementation of a BS6 engine. Meanwhile, TVS has done a lot to compensate for this hike with features. The current carburettor ABS variant sits at Rs. 1,11,280/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The 2020 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is expected to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, with a launch scheduled soon after. It is going to rival the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 which is also due for a BS6 update.
