Skoda Rapid to get 5 variants and 1.0-litre TSI MT powertrain when launched.
Skoda started accepting bookings for the 2020 Rapid on 16th March. The variant details have been revealed now and the booking amount has been reduced from Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 25,000/-.
The 2020 Skoda Rapid will be available in 5 variants – Active, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. The entry-level Active trim will come with Candy White and Carbon Steel colour options.
The Ambition and Style variants will be offered with additional Brilliant Silver and Toffee Brown colour options over the Active trim. The Onyx will come with Candy White and Lapiz Blue colours while Monte Carlo with Candy White and Flash Red.
One thing to note here is that the updated Skoda Rapid will be offered with a single 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine with manual gearbox option only at the time of the launch.
The BS6 compliant 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces 110 HP and 175 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 6-speed torque converter automatic will be added later this year.
The updated Rapid won’t come with cosmetic changes. It is expected to launch soon after the lockdown is lifted across the country. Pricing will be premium over its predecessor.
