The all-new Skoda Octavia RS iV has been unveiled and it is expected to be launched in India in 2021.
The 2020 Skoda Octavia RS iV has been revealed officially. The new generation of Skoda’s performance-oriented vehicle now comes with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. While the outgoing model got a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, the new one that we see here gets a 1.4-litre TSI unit.
The 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine is mated to an 85 kW electric motor and thus the RS iV has a combined output of 245 PS and 400 Nm. The vehicle gets a 6-speed DSG and power is sent to the front wheels. In Sport mode, the 2020 Skoda Octavia RS iV goes from 0-100 km/hr in 7.3 seconds and top speed is rated at 225 km/hr.
The vehicle gets a 13 kWh Lithium-ion battery and it offers a pure-electric range of up to 60 kms. In terms of equipment, the Skoda Octavia RS iV comes loaded with LED fog lamps, 18-inch black alloys, 19-inch optional alloys, and red RS brake callipers.
The styling of the 2020 Skoda Octavia RS is all-new. The vehicle gets a sharper face and a bolder overall design. Yes, the sedan does look quite drool-worthy and there are a lot of catchy elements in the design. The interior also gets a massive overhaul with a new steering, a new dashboard, digital instrument cluster, bigger and updated infotainment system, a classy centre console with a nice looking gear selector and of course looks of sporty bits everywhere.
Along with the Octavia RS sedan, Skoda also lifted the veils off the Octavia RS Combi. The station wagon gets the same engine and performance figures but lends a lot more practicality. The new Octavia RS iV is expected to be launched in India in 2021, meanwhile the Czech automaker is currently selling the Octavia RS 245 here and the vehicle has been garnering a lot of interest from buyers.
Skoda will also offer the Octavia in three more electrified versions. The Octavia iV plug-in hybrid producing 204 PS and 350 Nm will be available in the Ambition and Style trims. Along with that, the company will have two e-TEC variants producing 110 PS (1.0-litre TSI) and 150 PS (1.5-litre TSI) as part of the Octavia family.
