2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird Spied

The new generation Royal Enfield Thunderbird has been spotted undisguised.

The bike comes with new body panels

Royal Enfield has big plans for the future. They are entering new segments and markets while updating heavily their existing lineup to meet new emission norms as well as to make the products look fresh and updated.

One of the models getting significant changes is the RE Thunderbird. The new generation Thunderbird has recently been spotted undisguised, revealing the new details of the bike.

The cruiser body style remains intact in the new model but there are some styling, feature and mechanical updates. The headlight now gets a ring of LED DRLs. The body panels are new on the side profile and at the rear.

The tail light is rounded and the indicators are lower set giving a retro appeal. The seats for the ride and pillion are new which appears to have better cushioning.

The instrument cluster gets an LCD screen in between along with analogue speedometer. The bike comes with new handgrips and toggle switches for the headlight.

It is likely to be offered with a 346cc BS6 compliant engine. The bigger 499cc engine is expected to be discontinued soon, so RE might introduce it initially and then discontinue it later.

The new gen Thunderbird’s final drive has been shifted to the left side while the disc brake is on the right side. The bike now rides on alloy wheels instead of spoke wheels. It is expected to launch early next year with premium pricing over the current model.
