2020 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, GT R Launched In India

Mercedes launched the AMG C63 Coupe and the AMG GT R facelift in the Indian market today.

The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.33 crore (ex-showroom). The automaker earlier used to offer the C43 in Coupe guise and the C63 in a sedan version. Talking about the C63 Coupe, it gets some cosmetic changes on the outside to differentiate it from the older C43 Coupe. The bumpers are tweaked and you get a new carbon fibre rear spoiler too.

The vehicle gets standard 18-inch wheels while you can also opt for 19-inch wheels. Under the hood is a stonking 4.0-litre V8 Bi-Turbo engine belting out 469 horses and 650 Nm of torque. 0-100 km/hr comes up in a claimed 4 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/hr. The C63 Coupe comes equipped with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission and the car gets AMG Track Pace tech too.

Some other features include Active Park Assist, Mercedes Me Connect, ventilated seats with memory function, Burmester surround sound system, Nappa upholstery, Pre-Safe, LED ILS, ambient lighting, AMG door sills, dual-zone climate control, digital cockpit, panoramic sunroof, keyless-go and COMAND online.

Mercedes is also offering a decent number of Designo customisation options for the C63 Coupe. You get 7 exterior colour options, 4 interior trim options, 4 upholstery colour options, 5 alloy wheel options, 4 steering wheel options and 14 optional features. The Mercedes Star Ease compact Package is priced from Rs. 97,000/- (2 years/unlimited kms) for the AMG C63 Coupe.

The AMG GT R gets new LED headlamps and tail lights

The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 2.48 crore (ex-showroom). This is the second vehicle to have been developed entirely by Mercedes-AMG after the SLS. The updated model comes with new LED headlamps, flat LED tail lights, air curtains at the side, improved brake cooling measures, AMG performance exhaust with a titanium centre exhaust, and active air management system.

On the inside, the vehicle gets an AMG Interior Night package, AMG Performance steering wheel with DINAMICA micro-fiber, new touch display buttons, contrast colour stitching, and a 10.2-inch screen with NTG 5.5 head unit. The very long hood houses a 4.0-litre V8 Bi-Turbo engine delivering 577 HP and 700 Nm. The GT R comes with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed DCT. The top speed is 318 km/hr while 0-100 km/hr comes up in 3.60 seconds.

The Mercedes-AMG GT R gets AMG Ceramic High Performance brakes, AMG Ride Control suspension and Rear Axle Steering. At speeds below 100 km/hr, it steers in the opposite direction while at speeds about 100 km/hr, it steers in the same direction. The Star Ease Compact Package for the AMG GT R starts at Rs. 97,000 (2 years/unlimited kms).
