The updated Eeco complies with the new safety norms and the price has been increased.
Maruti Suzuki has updated their high selling MPV Eeco to meet with the new safety norms. The crash test compliant Eeco gets a price increase of Rs. 6000-9000/- depending on the variant. The 2020 Maruti Eeco is priced from Rs. 3.61 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The carmaker had already updated the Eeco in April 2019 with ABS, EBD, driver-side airbag, reverse parking sensors, etc. It is currently powered by a 1196cc, 4-cylinder engine that produces 73 HP and 101 Nm of torque in petrol version. While the CNG version churns out 63 HP and 85 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki will be updating the engine to meet the BS6 emission norms before the April 2020 deadline. The Eeco is one of the highest selling vehicles from the carmaker and they don’t want to lose big volumes from this MPV and hence has updated the van to comply with the new government norms.
