The Land Rover Discovery Sport facelift has arrived in India with new styling and features.
2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport launched, priced from Rs. 57.06 lakhs (ex-showroom). The new model is available in two variants, each variant has both petrol and diesel engine options. Pricing for the petrol variants will be announced later.
In terms of styling the front profile now looks sharper thanks to the new LED headlights and revised bumper along with a new grille. The side profile remains the same but comes with shiny new alloys that look more premium.
The rear profile of the Discovery Sport facelift gets new sporty bumper and LED tail lights. All in all, the revised styling lend the SUV a fresh look which is inspired by the elder sibling Discovery 5.
What’s interesting though is the fact that the new Discovery Sport is based on a new platform – Premium Transverse Architecture, which is shared with the new generation Evoque.
The interior has seen some changes too. There is a new steering wheel on offer, which looks more premium. There are new colour themes on offer depending on the variant you choose. It gets a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system.
Some of the features have been trickled down from the new Evoque such as the clear sight interior rear view monitor, Terrain Response 2, wireless charging, WiFi hotspot, etc.
The new Discovery Sport comes with 2.0-litre BS6 compliant diesel and petrol Ingenium engine options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine comes with a 48-volt mild hybrid system producing 245 HP and 365 Nm of torque.
The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 177 HP and 430 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
