2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport updated with visual and mechanical changes along with new features.
The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport has made its global debut with revised looks and premium interiors. The car now comes with eco-friendly engine options, upgraded technology and much more. The new Discovery Sport comes with a refreshed bumper design, new LED headlamps inspired from its elder sibling and a revised front grille.
The interiors are also fresh and come with a newly-designed 3-spoke steering wheel with steering mounted controls. It now gets a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard on the HSE and HSE luxury variants. The SUV also gets a special activity key that allows you to travel without the key fob to operate the car.
The interior has a more premium appeal to it and can be accentuated with the optional Luxtex material which is made out of recycled polyester microfiber. Optional features like wireless charging pad, front massage seats and a Pet Pack add to the passengers’ comfort.
The ClearSight Rear View mirror turns into an HD display that displays the images from the rearview camera. ClearSight Ground View can also be added that shows what is underneath the car, to provide convenience during those treacherous off-road trails.
Land Rover has underpinned the Discovery Sport on their Premium Transverse Architecture that is also seen on the 2020 Range Rover Evoque. The car is offered with a slew of engine options in both petrol and diesel options. Diesel engines include a 2.0-litre D150 engine that produces 150 PS and 380 Nm of torque, the 2.0-litre D180 engine is capable of producing 180 PS and 430 Nm of torque and the 2.0-litre MHEV D240 engine produces 240 PS and 500 Nm of torque.
The petrol engine options include a 2.0-litre P200 engine that produces 200 PS and 320 Nm of torque, the 2.0-litre P250 powertrain churns out 249 PS and 365 Nm of torque, all the engines can be had with MHEV.
The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport is equipped with 7 driver and passenger airbags, dynamic stability control, emergency brake assist, high-speed emergency braking assist, etc. The new Discovery Sport also gets Terrain Response 2 and comes with multiple driving modes. We expect the updated SUV to launch in India later this year.
