A new, refreshed and more powerful Kawasaki ZX-10R is here and is locally assembled.
Kawasaki has launched the 2020 ZX-10R at Rs. 13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The bike is being assembled locally in the country. However, the price of the superbike has been increased by Rs. 1.20 lakhs compared to the outgoing model of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R which retailed for Rs. 12.80 lakhs (ex-showroom) after the bike maker started getting CKD models to India last year.
Deliveries for the new bike will commence from mid-June for those who had booked the bike earlier for a sum of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. Also, the new Ninja ZX-10R will be introduced in KRT edition. The ex-showroom price and specifications of the bike is yet to be announced.
The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R does not get many cosmetic changes, but the mechanicals have received a major overhaul. The 998cc in-line four-cylinder, liquid-cooled powerhouse now produces 200.2 BHP at 13,500 RPM and 114.9 Nm of torque at 11,200 RPM. Power can be further increased to 210 BHP with RAM air intake. The engine is also equipped with finger follower valve actuation and a red painted cylinder head cover. The bike comes with a 6-speed gearbox, with KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter-Dual Direction).
The bike also gets additional features like Ohlins electronic steering damper, S-KTRC, KLCM, KCMF, Kawasaki engine brake control, three power modes, aluminium swingarm and Brembo braking system. With all the features and performance rating, the litre-class bike from Kawasaki will go up against Suzuki GSX-R1000, Ducati Panigale V4, Yamaha YZF-R1 and Aprilia RSV4 RR.
