The facelifted model will be launched in China on 30th October.
Not a long while ago, the 2020 Hyundai Verna made its global debut at the 2019 Chengdu Motor Show, China. The facelift is finally ready for the launch in China and is bound to come to India in 2020.
The new design language is pretty much in line with the new Hyundai cars. The front fascia sees a wider cascading grille, and the headlights seem to be flushing with the grille. The bumper is sharp with triangular inserts. At the rear, it gets fully wrap-around LED tail lights. The angular rear bumper further highlights the vivid body lines and edges, and have gotten rid of the fluidity. The wheels seem quite similar to the ones we see on the Hyundai Venue.
On the inside, you don’t receive a heavy update as much evident it is on the outside. However, it features a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an all-digital instrument cluster, the likes of which we have already seen in the Elite i20. Additionally, it will come with the Hyundai BlueLink Technology.
Performance-wise, the 2020 Hyundai Verna is probably going to continue with its 1.4-litre 4-cylinder petrol unit. India may get a new 1.5-litre diesel unit (BS6 compliant) with power figures curtailing to 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Likewise, the Kia Seltos comes with the same power unit and the next-gen Creta will also get it. The choices will be available between a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed CVT.
We expect the facelift to come to the Indian market in the middle of 2020. Upon its launch, it will rival against the Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
