The next-generation Hyundai i20 will be launched in India by June 2020.
Hyundai has revealed the first set of images for the next-generation i20. The premium hatchback is will make its global debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. The car looks quite sporty and stylish with its hook-shaped LED DRLs at the front and the Z-shaped LED DRLs at the rear.
The premium hatchback gets a new honeycomb grille finished in matte black. For India-spec, it will most likely be replaced by a cascading grille, as seen on the recently unveiled new Creta. Headlights are all LED and it gets new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, sleek ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and a shark fin antenna.
While an image for the interior is yet to be released, one can expect the next-generation i20 to get a multi-function steering wheel, an updated touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument console, BlueLink internet-connected car technology and a host of other features such as cruise control, climate control, steering mounted control, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps.
The 2020 Hyundai i20 is likely to be offered with two petrol and one diesel engine option, all of which will be BS6 compliant at the time of launch. The 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine borrowed from the Venue where it produces 119 PS of power and 172 Nm torque. The i20 could get a 1.5-litre CRDi engine that currently powers the Kia Seltos. Transmission option on offer with diesel will only be manual, while with petrol it will get manual as well as automatic.
