New generation Hyundai i20 interior design sketch reveals new styling.
Hyundai has officially revealed the interior design sketch and engine details of the new i20 along with some features on offer. The premium hatchback gets a totally new design language inside out.
The interior of the 2020 Hyundai i20 is in line with the latest generation of Hyundai cars. The steering wheel looks similar to the new Creta. There is an all-digital instrument cluster which measures 10.25-inch. The touchscreen infotainment system is 10.25-inch as well.
There are horizontal blade styling on the dashboard which looks inspired by some Volkswagen cars. Hyundai will be offering Bose audio system in the new i20 for the international markets. It will come with wireless phone charging along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Powering the new Hyundai i20 is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is available in two states of tune – 100 PS and 120 PS. The more powerful tune will also get a 48-volt mild hybrid system as standard while it is optional with the 100 PS version.
This engine will be offered with 6-speed manual transmission and 7-speed DCT options. However, we expect Hyundai to offer the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in the Indian market to keep the price in check.
Some of the driver assistance systems include Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning and High Beam Assist.
The India-spec i20 won’t come with all these features and the styling is likely to be slightly different too. India launch is expected in June this year.
