The global version of the 2020 Hyundai i10 has been revealed and it gets some changes over the NIOS.
Hyundai launched the Grand i10 NIOS in India last month and now the company has revealed the international version of the 2020 i10. Even though both the cars are base on the same platform, there are some mechanical and cosmetic differences between them.
Before proceeding with the changes, let’s first talk about the similarities. Both the cars features similar headlamp designs with an overall similar silhouette when it comes to the exterior. When it comes to the interior, both cars have a similar dashboard design, steering wheel and touchscreen infotainment system with similar features like wireless charging. Even the seat fabric looks to be the same.
Now, starting from the exterior design, the international i10 gets different set of tail lamps, different DRLs and redesigned front and rear bumpers. Even the wheels have been upgraded to bigger 16-inch units as apposed to the 15-inch ones offered in India. It also gets chrome door handles.
The instrument cluster also gets a tweaked layout since the international model comes with extra features like cruise control. The centre console also gets some additional buttons for various functions. The front headrests are also of the adjustable kind as apposed to the fixed ones we get in India.
Talking about safety, both the cars get ABS, EBD and airbags as standard but the international i10 also gets Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist System, High Beam Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Warning and Driver Attention Warning. The seats also feature ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Internationally, the Hyundai i10 is available with two engine options – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine with 66 HP and 96 Nm of torque and and a bigger 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine with 82 HP and 118 Nm of torque, mated to either a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AT gearbox. The car is offered in 10 colour options – Brass, Dragon Red, Phantom Black, Aqua Turquoise, Star Dust, Polar White, Champion Blue, Sleek Silver, Slate Blue and Tomato Red with dual tone option of black or red roof.
