The much awaited second generation Hyundai Creta goes on sale in India.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta is finally here in India, priced from Rs. 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is available in 5 trim levels and 7 colour options. There are three engines on offer with multiple transmission options. In total 14 variants to choose from.
In terms of styling, the new Creta gets split LED headlight setup with DRLs. There is a huge grille up front. The side profile looks muscular thanks to the bulky wheel arches. You get diamond cut alloys in the range topping trim.
There is a floating roof design and the rear also gets split tail lamp setup. The overall styling is quite unique and it has a love it or hate it design. Available in silver, white, red, blue, orange, black and grey colour options.
The interior is all-new and looks quite upmarket. There is a huge panoramic sunroof on offer which makes the cabin look airy. There is a dual-tone beige and black theme in the regular variants while the Turbo variant gets all-black theme. Boot space is 433-litres.
Some of the key features include trio beam LED headlamps, 17-inch diamond cut alloys, puddle lamps, drive rear view monitor, rear seat headrest cushion, front seats ventilation, blue ambient light, electric parking brake with auto hold, auto air purifier, power adjustable driver seat, rear windows sunshade, wireless charger, etc.
The new Creta comes with BlueLink connected car tech which offers 50+ features. Some of them include remote engine start/stop, remote air purifier, stolen vehicle tracking, notification and immobilisation, monthly health report, smart watch app, voice operated open/close sunroof.
The Creta comes with a 10.24 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets Bose premium audio system with 8 speakers.
In terms of safety, the new Creta is loaded with 6 airbags, ESC, VSM, all disc brakes, Hill Start Assist, rear parking sensors with camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and ABS with EBD.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta is powered by three BS6 compliant engine options. There is a 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS at 6300 RPM and 144 Nm at 4500 RPM. This engine comes with IVT and 6-speed manual transmission options. The former offers a claimed mileage of 16.9 km/l while the latter offers 16.8 km/l.
Next up is the 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine producing 115 PS at 4000 RPM and 250 Nm at 1500-2750 RPM. This engine is available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission option. MT returns 21.4 km/l while AT returns 18.5 km/l.
There is a new 1.4-litre Kappa Turbo petrol engine that generates 140 PS at 6000 RPM and 242 Nm at 1500-3200 RPM. This engine comes with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission with steering mounted paddle shifters. It returns 16.8 km/l of fuel efficiency.
All the variants are claimed to have best in segment fuel efficiency. The new Hyundai Creta comes with Eco, Comfort and Sport driving modes along with traction control modes – Snow, Sand and Mud.
