India-bound Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 have been revealed at EICMA 2019.
India will witness two Swedish attractions; the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 in India post the BS6 emission deadline. Production-spec versions of the two motorcycles are out and show bolt-on sub-frame instead of the welded sub-frame that was showcased as a concept before. The Vitpilen 401 is more of a cafe-racer style motorcycle and hence gets clip-on style handlebars and road-spec tyres. On the other hand, the Svartpilen 401 gets rugged styling with off-road-focused design as well as a tall and wide handlebar.
The 401s are based on the KTM Duke 390 and bear a lot of similar mechanisms. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 use a 373cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve, DOHC motor that produces 44 PS of peak power and 37 Nm of torque. The single-cylinder mill is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Along with the engine, the suspension and braking setup is similar too. The Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 get 142 mm front and 150 mm rear suspension travel along with inverted forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back for adequate shock absorption.
The Husqvarna twins are expected to enter the Indian market in 2020 with a price close to Rs. 3 lakhs (ex-showroom).
