The supercharged 2020 Bimota Tesi H2 has been spotted testing on the Umbria Circuit, in Italy. The Tesi H2 gets the H2 tag because it gets many elements from the Kawasaki H2, including the engine.

The Bimota Tesi H2 was first showcased globally at the EICMA motorcycle show in November 2019. This was right after Kawasaki bought about 49% of stake in Bimota Motorcycles.

While the Bimota Tesi H2 gets many elements from the Kawasaki H2, the major difference is that it gets a unique double swingarm chassis. The chassis of the Tesi is a real innovation, though. Bimota built it in such a way that the front suspension is capable of moving in completely different directions. Due to this, the chassis offers much more stability than a conventional chassis under braking.

Bimota have not revealed any performance figures yet. But, if we take the Kawasaki H2 for reference, one can easily expect the supercharged Tesi H2 to make somewhere around 250-300 BHP. Also, we expect the bike to come with an electronic suite similar or even more sophisticated than the Kawasaki H2.

Physically, the Bimota Tesi H2 resembles the Vyrus 986 M2 from the front while the tail section comes from the Kawasaki H2. It also gets an impressive side air intake, which is completely carbon fibre. Carbon fibre is extensively used throughout the bike as well. An Ohlins suspension setup and Brembo braking setup is also present.

According to Bimota, the reason for testing on the Umbria Circuit was to focus on improving the performance of the brakes. They stated that the Umbria Circuit offers many hard-braking opportunities which introduces brake fade in motorcycles. They seem keen to eliminate this problem on the Tesi H2.

Lastly, Bimota say that they will unveil the production version around September while, it’s initial launch date was around June 2020 (full credits to Covid-19 for the delay). Being an exclusive motorcycle, the Italian brand will produce it in very limited numbers and it’s arrival in India is sceptical, especially when the Kawasaki H2 is already present here.
