New Benelli 302R leaked online, India launch with BS6 engine soon.
Benelli is about to introduce the updated 302R to the world but before its official reveal, the bike has been leaked. The leaked image suggests there are no major changes to the bike.
In terms of styling the 2020 Benelli 302R will remain more or less the same but will get new colour options and graphics for a fresh visual appeal and to differentiate it with the outgoing model.
The new 302R is expected to get a new fully-digital instrument cluster which replaces the current semi-digital unit. We can expect the Italian brand to offer a few more features on the updated model.
The biggest change for us Indians will be an updated BS6 compliant 300cc, parallel-twin, liquid cooled engine. The BS4 version had an output of 38.26 PS and 26.5 Nm of torque. We expect similar numbers with the BS6 unit.
The weight will be increased though from 198 kg to 210 kg. The suspension setup including USD front fork and monoshock rear suspension will be carried forward. It will come with dual-channel ABS as standard.
Benelli is expected to launch the updated model in India later this year with a price hike. The launch timeline isn’t confirmed yet because of the COVID-19 situation in the country.
