The 2019 Yamaha NMAX is largely similar to its current model with subtle design changes.
The patent images of the 2019 Yamaha NMAX have been leaked. The images show the new NMAX in its full glory. It features a sleeker headlamp design which is most likely an LED unit and repositioned indicators. The region behind the front apron of the maxi-scooter has also been redesigned along with the addition of closed storage space. The compartment would also get a charging point as an option.
The saddle of the NMAX features a similar step-up design with a single-piece passenger grab rail. Visually, the tail section has also been revised. The engine fins, exhaust and the heat shield design are carried over from the current generation NMAX.
Driving the current generation NMAX is a 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) technology. It makes 15 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 14.4 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. The engine is mated to a dry centrifugal automatic clutch. Suspension duties are taken care of by conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It gets disc brakes on both ends for effective braking. The NMAX also gets ABS as standard.
