The 10th generation Toyota Camry has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 36.95 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Toyota has launched the 10th generation Camry in India. It gets drastic changes both on the outside and inside and even gets a new platform. The 2019 Toyota Camry is based on the TNGA-K platform which is shared with the Lexus ES 300h. The new sedan is 29 mm longer, 14 mm wider and 35 mm lower than the outgoing model. It’s wheelbase has gone up by 49 mm.
In terms of features, the 2019 Toyota Camry gets equipment like a new 8-inch Human Machine Interface infotainment system but it misses out on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets memory function for the driver’s seat, rear armrest with capacitive touchscreen, leather-wrapped steering wheel with phone and audio controls, wireless charging, 9-speaker JBL Dolby audio system and 3-zone climate control.
The vehicle is equipped with 9 airbags, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Park Assist, Hill Start Assist and ABS with EBD. Powering the 2019 Toyota Camry is the same 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine belting out 175 HP and 221 Nm. It is mated to an auxiliary electric adding another 118 HP and it also increases the efficiency.
The 2019 Toyota Camry is more premium, looks better and offers more space. It gets the same engine as before but with some tweaks. With the pricing set at Rs. 36.95 lakhs (cheaper than older car), the Camry straightaway rivals some luxury sedans like the Mercedes C-Class even though its core rival is the Honda Accord Hybrid which is also priced high.
