Verdict – The Porsche Macan S is the car to buy if you are looking for sports car-like handling and SUV practicality. The new V6 engine adds oodles of appeal to an already capable chassis. We love how entertaining the Macan S is to drive and it might be one of the best handling SUVs in the world. It also has other attributes like the posh cabin and comfortable ride. The Achilles heel here is the Macan’s poor price to size ratio. At a starting price of Rs. 69.3 lakhs for the base variant going all the way to Rs. 85.6 lakhs, there are many SUVs out there which are far more spacious and practical. However, few four-door cars, let alone SUVs, come close to the Macan S when it comes to putting a big smile across your face every time you get behind the wheel. It is also significantly cheaper than the outgoing car and Porsche has introduced financial schemes to sweeten the ownership experience. Sure, it still remains a niche choice but for an everyday Porsche on Indian roads, the Macan S is it.
