2019 Maruti Ertiga CNG Kit Available At Dealer Level

2019 Maruti Ertiga Side Profile

The CNG kit has the same storage capacity as the outgoing CNG variant.

The Maruti Ertiga CNG kit is available only for petrol variants

When the new Ertiga was launched on November 21, there were queries about why the company had not introduced a new CNG variant to replace the outgoing one. While the factory fitted CNG variant of the new Ertiga is still under the works and will not be launched for a couple of months, Maruti, in its accessories list has mentioned that those Ertiga models which employ the petrol engine can avail the fitment of a dealer-level sequential CNG kit.

The CNG kit has a maximum capacity of 14 kgs, which is the same as the CNG variant of the first-gen Ertiga. In addition, the kit is also offered with a one-year warranty from the dealer. It is priced at Rs. 65,000/-. Customers can now avail the cost benefits of using the low-cost fuel to run the engine.

The Ertiga is priced between Rs. 7.44 lakhs to Rs. 9.95 lakhs for the petrol-powered models while the diesel-powered models are priced between Rs. 8.84 lakhs to Rs. 10.90 lakhs. It is equipped with Maruti’s SHVS technology which allows the car to study driver patterns to optimise fuel consumption in metropolitan cities, especially in heavy traffic situations.

The petrol variant of the Ertiga uses a 1.5-litre, 105 HP generating engine. It is also paired with a dual battery setup which is taken from the new-gen Ciaz. The diesel variant uses the same 1.3-litre, 90 HP generating engine which was used in the outgoing diesel model. Both are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the option of a petrol variant with a 4-speed torque convertor automatic transmission is also available.
