Following the line of updates that Maruti is offering, Eeco is the latest vehicle to follow the trend.
Maruti Suzuki is updating its vehicles with updated standard safety features to comply with the upcoming government regulations applicable from July 2019. With the Baleno receiving a minor update of inclusion of new safety bits and also the new generation Wagon R launched with the most feature equipped package ever in terms of safety in its lifecycle, Eeco too is getting a lot of updates as well.
The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Eeco is loaded with safety features like driver side airbag, ABS, seatbelt reminder, speed alert along with other additional updates such as reverse parking sensors along with a cup holder. The minivan also features Diagonal Shift Assistance for smooth gear shifting, digital trip meter, integrated headrests in the front row, Engine Management System, headlamp levelling, side impact beams and high-mounted stop lamp.
The 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine develops 73 BHP of maximum power at 6000 RPM and 101 Nm of peak torque delivered at 3000 RPM. It is also offered in CNG version with a fuel economy of 16.2 km/kg only in the five-seater version.
The Omni will not be upgraded to comply with BNVSAP (Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program) norms and instead, the Eeco will likely take its place. It is expected to be re-developed with structural upgrades to meet all the impact tests at devised speeds.
