The 2019 Jeep Wrangler has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 63.94 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The new off-roader SUV is now sold in a single Wrangler Unlimited variant as a CBU (completely-built-up) unit. In terms of design, the car retains its signature boxy outlook but with a handful of new contemporary elements. Classic round headlamps with LED units and the statement 7-slot grille curate its face. The heavy body continues to be steel while the fenders and bonnet are now aluminum.
Inside the cabin, the 2019 Jeep Wrangler boasts a refreshed dashboard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation. It also gets passive entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start and leather upholstery. The seats are complemented by contrast white stitching.
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler has only 1 petrol engine on offer- a 2.0-litre turbo unit mated to a brand-new 8-speed automatic transmission. It cranks up 268 PS of power and a peak torque of 400Nm. The powertrain is a BS4 compliant unit and is likely to be upgraded to meet BS6 norms in the future.
It has a 4-wheel-drive high and a 4-wheel-drive low mode as well as a 4-wheel-drive auto mode that adjusts accordingly. The SUV gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill-start assist and electronic roll mitigation to keep its passengers safe. The company is offering a warranty for 2 years and unlimited kms on the new Wrangler.
